I've played on many servers where members of certain clans play and have often been asked to join their clans after they've seen my gameplay. However, I'm new to this whole online play thing and really don't understand the benefits of joining a clan. The clans I've seen so far don't fight any differently than a bunch of random players. They just have similar names. I understand the theory behind clans, but do any actually fight as a team? It seems to still be a free for all. Has anyone else noticed this?

Most clans have private practices for the ladder matches which require more of a strategy. The clans open the servers to the public just for individual target practice. Besides some clans have a dedicated server and clan members dont have to wander around looking for one. The best reason is comradeship.

i am part of the [286th] mechanized infantry and we all love to play the game and we get along well. Sportsmanship is the main part of our clan

i've had a few offers but i don't usually join clans. was in a few in tribes but they were pretty corrupt people were taking the game too seriously. i like to just play and have fun although sadly the cost of that is never finding a server with good teamplay. but if you can find a good one its a nice place to make friends and show those rambo assholes how squad work works.

It's too bad more people don't appreciate good team play on public servers. Does anyone have a clan with good teamplay?

Screaming Eagles are looking for more men to be apart of our clan. We are fully envolved in team play. We have about 41 or so men and are looking for a few more to make it even again. We currently had one or two leave because of loss of interest. If you want to join check out the page in the sig and fill out the form!

I think it depends how old you are. I've found that clans are are almost always high school kids and sometimes university/college students. If your in that age bracket it may be fun to try out.

Personnaly, if I was that age again, and agreed to join a 'clan', I still wouldn't unless they offered a private/fast/dedicated server to play on with the rest of the clan, and there should be plenty of members so there is always someone to play. Otherwise I just don't see the point.

Personally, it's nice knowing that I'll always have someone to game with. It's not just hittin' the pubs for some senseless killin'. It's about trying out different strats and formations with someone that's on the same page. I'm a member of Phoenix Rage PxR| and the friends I've made there are good people. Camraderie is a great thing. I also think clan members play the game more fairly and offer a certain level of respect towards the people or teammates around them. They're likely to play more carefully and as a team too because of it... It's unlikely you'll find a clan member TK'ing. I'm sure it happens, however, anyone that plays in ladder matches knows better... Bottom line is, if you're a team player, join one. You might like it.

It's a more organized way to play, plus you meet lot's of new people.

i am offered to join clans almost every time one of those peeps run into me... they seem to want to recruit the ones on the top of the list and dont bitch. I just dont see the point. I join public clan servers though to find good teamplay and sometimes, not often, a hard challenge.

For most people there isnt much of a reason for clans or squads because so much of the gameplay is uncontrolable and unorganized that gameplans dont usually work out. if there was a deployment time for certain types of matches (ie round based) a clan could set up their side either axis or allies the way they want to or are used to. the game as it stands doesnt hold much strategic content in terms of teams. it is mostly up to the individual to make strategic choices- primarily your weapon and your hiding spot. also most people who run around with a machine gun dont need someone they can trust ie a clanmate to cover them because not much is riding on the line if they die. usually if you die you die and respawn. had the game relied on a ranking system that records and ranks a player's performance giving them a title, like a game called myth did and much like the way this forum does, more people would join clans hoping to play with better players in order to increase their rank.
me... im a one man army... booyah grandma

I must agree with the second to last post. If there were a ranking system which prevented TK'ing and Suicidal Rambo playing, team play would be totally boosted. Booya indeed!
