LOL. I had this exact same experience online at the Omaha map. The way I start on that map when I'm axis is I don't shoot at the guys storming the beach other than with the MG42's in the pillboxes. However, the moment I get sniped (not rifled or machine gunned) from the beach I use a Mauser and start firing from the top down onto the beach.

And of course, one time after I was really getting a bunch of kills I had a couple of guys get irate with me for doing so. They called me cheap, a newbie, and all kinds of other stuff. Then I told them I was using a standard rifle without a scope. Of course, they didn't believe me.

The really funny thing was that these two idiots were sniping from down on the beach themselves!
