But here in norway we can only dream of having a Thompson that would probably require a collectors license and just getting a "normal" gun license is a hassle

Actually, Thompsons aren't illegal as long as they are semiautomatic. A few guys in my re-enacting group own them as well as a few grease-guns. I myself own an M1, but it's only fitted to shoot blanks. It's war dated though.

My grandfather got a MP40 from WWII when Norway was occupied during the war. They left much equipment when they left.
