Default How do you edit the games maps? - 09-09-2004, 10:43 AM

Meh, I don't know how. I tried searching but I don't know wtf it came up with but it sure weren't what I were looking for. So how can you edit the maps that are already in the game (or ones that have been downloaded) but I definitly won't be putting them up on the Net coz that'd be illegal and unfair, ja?

i don't think it'd be illegal to put up any kind of map online unless it like, had questionable content in it. for editing maps use MOHRadient. i think thats how its spelled.

Well how do you do that? I mean, I have the maps and change the end to .pk3 (sorry im a dumbass) but they won't work for MOHRadiant. Shall I try the PK3 Manage Editor?

If you edit the .map or .bsp file then the other guy would need to have the map. Go to this place:
http://www.branndonandbrianne.com/blazi ... _final.htm
It tells you how.

No not scripting. I meant like actually using MoHR to edit the actual maps. But thanks anyways.

You have to use a bsp decompiler to convert maps back into a readable format for Radiant. You should know that bsp translates all brushes and surfaces into triangles and they can not be converted back into the original brushes. It usually takes several hundred hours to reconstruct a map back into any semblance of the original.
