Wookie , thats because they both came here thinking that no one here really gave a rats ass about ww2 and we were just brainless quakeIII and "rambo" fans .
and also , they were saying that this game wont be fun if its not 100% historically correct . but you know what ? i think they get a big kick out this , its fun finding mistakes isnt it . especially when you're in class and you find a mistake in a textbook or something and you bring it up to the front of the class and the teacher congratulates you in front of everyone . how nice .

Yes, I've started another one. I'm sure there has been many posts like this, but I thought I'd share this idea. As Original it is or not.
Here's an Idea..
1.) Setting : Fun - You can take a couple hits without getting too banged up or killed. More ammunition is available and gameplay is overall more "Rambo" like.
2.) Setting : Realistic -
-If you get one in the head, you die.
-You Get one in the Stomach, you bleed to death in a minute or so.
-Heart, Instant death.
-Arm, your arm's messed up.
-Leg cant walk or just limp a little, dragging too.
-Concusion, Sound is messed up for a while.
-Shrapnul, bleeds to death in a few minutes unless given medical attention.
Ammunition is harder to come by.. Etc..Etc..

I've seen that in other games. In SoF if you are shot in the leg you walk much much slower..even if you take health your speed does not changed. I thought that was fun. And it's not a new ideas..Rainbow Six does that I believe, where if you take one shot, you're useless! But if that is to exist in the game, there has to be a switch to turn it off and on. Because..you know it is a game and some poeple wouldn't find that so much fun.

Meeting the demographic and money seems to be just what it's all about. Not the Facts..

Also, I was playing Deer Hunter II about 2 or so years ago or whatever. And what I really liked was that after running for about 300 yards strait, You got winded and slowed almost to a stop. Great For the reality setting. C-Rations also would improve your endurance for a while, plus a canteen or two would stop you from passing out due to heat exaustion... THAT would be very Cool.

I hear that one. The difficulty level we talked about before but you laid it out nice for us, just add bullet drop etc. to the realistic setting and you got it. thanks

i think they are trying to stay away completely from the rambo style . maybe they decrease/increase the incidence of getting shot overall especially in omaha where anyone can get shot as you're advancing up the beach . also increased difficulty can be proportional to the amount of enemies you'll face in the missions and of course the amount of extra ammo availiable to pick up . i dont know how you can translate an arm injury to a FPS but sounds interesting . what i'm wondering about is how your squad's AI will perform in all these situations . for example by looking at the ingame trailer , it seems like they are roaming around you in a given radius instead of following you like in R6 .

first of all its an action game, there not trying to go for full out simulation, sit on your ass and take a shit in the middle of a forest game here buddy, its an action game alright, most of your ideas have been pointless gayness goin on that is true but cant all be added into the game, so quit putting in good ideas,

If you take a bullet in the arm it should be harder to hold your gun still while aiming.
