no, i just really haven't had the time to look into the difference. to me, they really look the same.
get the source picture and use cutout and see if it gets within 1243% of being the same. pen tool vectoring is done by far much more work then pressing a filter button you nub. die
very time consuming, gotta know the ins and outs of the pen tool too, my personal favorite kind of art.

this guy is the micheal jordan of the vector world, just look through his DA account and check some of his shit, hes amazing. this is what can be done with the pen tool (this was done in illustrator 10, same thing as ps just abit more "vector freindly")
