Rifle qualification -
10-24-2004, 03:37 PM
Well this weekend at the range was a rainy, cold miserable day. But that didnt stop me from shooting Expert the highest qualifying rank you can get! I hit 9 out of 10 targets at the 500 yard line to seal my qualification. w00t!

500 yards with an M16? Or were you using something else?
Either way, congrats. 500 yards is a long way.

How big are the targets? A normal target like Figure 11 or what?
Cause thats nuts. I've never shot from that far away. Farthest i've done is 350m.
You must have had a scope, right?
Good job.

Heres my really ROUGH drawing comparison. Basically when you aim with the front sight...you cant see the target
And no gerard those targets are the ones we shoot at at the 200 yard line. But...what that guy is looking from is 500 yards.

Actually from the 200 yard line and the 300 yard line that drawing i made....cut that in half we shoot on targets that are the same thing, except shoulders up.
