Default Did my part for WWI veteran remembrance/charity sucks - 11-12-2004, 09:56 PM

ok so this morning I went and helped the red poppy foundation sell poppies, so I contributed my time. Far more than any of you will ever do who just claim to be honouring but just sit on the chair all day. only j/k.
Anyways I realized how worthless charity is cause I realized how so few people were willing to pay. Its pretty disgraceful.

I've sold poppies in air cadets...

Anyways you're basically right. Hardly any poeple give money but at least when they take them they wear them. It's still paying respect.

You probably just fucking suck at getting people to be charitable. You have to threaten them and be violent, stick whetever you message is in their face. If they don't do anything. Tell them to fuck off and die in pit full of fat old bitches.

the point of charity is not to do for others, but to do for yourself. if you don't feel like you are making a difference, you wont.

Charity--
1. Provision of help or relief to the poor; almsgiving.
2. Something given to help the needy; alms.
3. An institution, organization, or fund established to help the needy.
4. Benevolence or generosity toward others or toward humanity.
5. Indulgence or forbearance in judging others. See Synonyms at mercy.
6. often Charity Christianity. The theological virtue defined as love directed first toward God but also toward oneself and one's neighbors as objects of God's love.

I don't really see anything in there that says about helping yourself.
