im liking the game so far, but the one problem i have with it is that you dont know when to stop or keep going, like right now im at the level where you drive the hovercraft thing and i just fly past things, not knowing if i should stop.
but the game is alot of fun

It seems ever since steam and hl2 updated themselves recently i've come into major problems, now i can't even play the game anymore. It gets to nearly finishing the loading screen and then it either turns my pc off, restarts it or just does nothing, the whole audio stuttering issues with the game also fuck things up badly. Tried different drivers to no avail..
Just a quick question, once you've activated the game, etc, do you have to go online everytime u play it? is there not an offline mode or something. I've f*****g activated, unlocked files and put in my serial key, surely thats enough to play it without having to log-in every single time....

Disconnect from the net (turn off your modem or whatever) and then launch Steam. You should see an "Updating Steam....." box, it'll stay on the screen for a minute or so, then you should see this.....

There might be an easier/quicker way of doing it, but that's the only way I know of.

Well after that comes up, you choose offline and you get this:

I've actually been searching the Steam forums like a possessed madman in search of answers, seems plenty of other ppl have this. I also just found that a load of people are having the same problem as me regarding loaded save games, it gets to 95% then freezes/crashes/restarts windows. Sooooo many angry people on the forums, Valve better speak out about all the problems soon or there'll be a riot.
I'm really quite angry they haven't even addressed this problem, I mean even with the audio stuttering they admitted a 'small number' of people are having this problem, bullshit, its hundred of thousands, maybe over a million, they need to pull there finger out and stop counting their money for a second and help us out.

That last update to fix the stuttering has done something to my CS:Source. It isn't running as smoothly as it used to. cuss:

I dont have this game, but if I may venture to say that for something you actually pay
for, this HL2/steam arrangement appears to be an intrusive pile of steaming shite?

For some people, yes, but for most it works well enough, if not flawlessly.
