Predictions for this year's college football season -
08-09-2002, 07:21 PM
I posted this on the PMOH board but all the responses I got were from Europeans saying football is stupid. Hopefully I'll get somebody to reply here that actually cares about American football. Anyway...
Well last year I called Miami to win it all (no, not on this forum) and I was right. This year though it's hard to say who will take the National Title. Mami still has an outside shot but they lost a few good solid Seniors last year. Oklahoma lost Nate Hybl last year but I think they still have the best D in the nation. Nebraska has no chance with no running game now that Eric Croutch is gone lol. Texas (my fav team) has an outside shot but I think they just don't have what it takes especially since Mack Brown seems to not care about his coaching career anymore. Florida looks strong but with Spurrier gone I think they will not make it. If Joey Harrington was still at Oregon I would pick them. This is a hard choice but I pick the Oklahoma Sooners to win the 2002/2003 college football national title this year. What do you all think?

My bet is Montreal to win
and in College......uh........Notre Dame.....the "fighting" Irish don't have a good soccer team so hey give em a chance is american football

Texas?? Personally I think Miami is the strongest team out there right now.. I feel my Wolverines have a strong chance however. Hail to the victors!
EDIT: Look at this POS Herbstreit article...not one Wolverine listed, and a shitload of SUCKEYES on there. Typical OSUck grad

Even though I now live in WA I have to go with the Cornhuskers. I think alot of people are going to be suprised by them this year. They've basically been written off, which I think will play in their favor. When they they start rolling over some opponent people will say they opposition was weak, but when they beat Texas, Colorado, and then Oklahoma in the Big XII championship game people will be whistling a different tune, of course I could be wrong, they might really suck this year.
*edit
Oh in response to Nebraska not having a rushing game with Crouch gone,
I think your wrong. I am hoping that Nebraska will will be able to mix it up a little bit more by not relying on one player to carry the load. They have like 4 or 5 guys fighting for the I back spot. All of them are supposed to be good. The quaterback is untested on the field, which makes him an unkown factor. The defense is more of a question for them then there offense.

Thanks for the link. I hate Kirk Herbstrait AND Lee Corso. Everytime Lee tries to act like he knows something about football just because he was a coach, he actually turns out sounding like an idiot. Ohio State doesn't even have a chance of ranking in the BCS this year. But who knows, they could do good and I'll have to eat my words. I'll just go ahead and make my bold statement that I know my college football, and Ohio State isn't very good.
P.S. Ohio State has the best band in the nation? that's a load of bullcrap. Texas A&M has the best band, bar none. I have seen them play in real life, and its awesome. They're so freaking loud on the field its not even funny.

Crap, I forgot to put the Tennessee Volunteers in as a STRONG candidate to at least be in the championship game (the Sugar Bowl?) this year. I have to say, I absolutely DISPISE the Vols, but I'll give credit where credit is due, they're a damn good football team.
