Will today's "empires" collapse? -

Well, just like in the past when old empires such as Roman, Byzantine, Persian...will countries like the US, Canada, UK, Russia collapse and become totally different pieces of land? Hmm...my wording seems very basic...need sleep :-?

despite the numberous casualties i feel it was completely nesscessary. why? because it was the end of the war and the men who had seen their friends and brothers die in the bloody mahem that was the pacific theatre were actually seeing the light of hope for survival. with the drop of the atomic bomb, 18 year old GI joe from walla walla washington didnt have to make the drop on tokyo...somethign that would have cost hundreds of thousands of lives in the process, not only that it may not have been sucessful. however...the results were disasterous. we have seen what nuclear weapons can do when it comes to matters of fear...espically when they get in the wrong hands. its impossible, however, to completely trust anyone with a weapon of this power.

Ifyou account nothing else into your decision, then No.
Thousands of citizens were killed. A rule of war is to not kill citizens. So from that point, it was unfortunate and wrong. But when you look at the big picture, its questionable.

War is hell... Do what you have to do to get the job done. If the atomic bomb hadn't saved hundreds of thousands of Allied lives, then I would feel differently.

It's tempting to choose afrodj13, but I am going to go with "Yes". We will all die very soon, I can feel it

well the british bombed the hell out of the citizens of germany and germany bombed the hell out of britain, we bombed the hell out of japan. So you cant say the USA was the only one and that we are evil blah blah blah, besides we warned them before we droped the bomb, we told em to surrender or else, they didnt listed. Consequences of decisiones.

No.
The only way for them to collapse would be if something drastic happened. Like nuclear war or aliens invading etc.
