On Cheating

Hello,

I have been reading the boards for some time now but this is the first time I've posted something. After playing MOHAA online for the last few months I have a few things I want to say about cheating.

When I first starting playing I quickly realised this game was a cut above the other stuff I'd played online. Nice graphics, smooth gameplay - you guys know what I'm talking about.

I then started reading about cheats & cheating - I'm sure I'm not the only one - for me it seemed as if everyone was cheating (many if not all were just good shots). I did come across some cheaters (folks underground etc) but they seemed few & far between.

Thanks to some of the comments on this site - I think I've got better at seeing people who are just good players. If people are cheating - you know what it's like - you just have to live with it. It about getting some perspective - I see these guys that are constantly talking about cheating online - what's the point in a live game (I know people getted kicked so this is something I suppose - just don't look at their score or move games)

However, last night I actually saw a new cheat for me & it does make me wonder just how many are out there. This guy came round a corner in Algiers & he was moving along completely flat to the floor - this made him a few inches high - I tried to hit him but no chance. Is this a cheat you guys now about?

well, H, this is my opinion on that stuff. i believe anything that can be achieved during gameplay...force models, wall hacking, etc. without the usage of heavy modification isn't cheating...people are merely beating the system. the only thing i dislike is when people go under the map in destroyed village. but when this happens i just go on under that damn map and kill the bastards that are doing the wrong...JUSTICE SERVED. but, back to the "cheating". i dont believe its cheating, unless its full-blown no question..well, cheating. peace.

Decieving by trickery.... basicly everything that wasn't ment to happen is "cheating" but if it gives no real advantage than i dont really mind, but some guy almost all the way under ground, than is tricky, if it benifits any 1's favor, i dont like it...i fogured out this reaslly cool glitch, but i wont dare say it, if word is to spread, omaha will go under,no it isnt about going under the map....it's totally differn't.

Sweet!!! Akuma, thanks for getting a screen shot of one of the few good games I've ever had. A 2.5 to 1 kill ratio. Not bad for an old coot. :lol:

I've never seen the "cheat" that Henry707 is talking about. Are you sure it is not just a video problem? I was playing on the server yesterday and when we went to the City Hall Push map I was invisible to DOA Hitler for a while. It was really funny. He had killed me about 50 times in a row, as usual, so I had to wait until I killed him a few times before I let him know that I was standing right beside him every time I shot him. :lol: :lol: He typed "where are you?" several times and it really got me laughing. I finally had to vid_restart just because I was laughing so hard I couldn't breath.

I saw some punk doing that earlier today and I thought it was just some freaky 'bug'

some guy named falcon from the .=H=^. clan was doing it in his own server. he changed his name to maverick and did it every game. at first i was too busy laughing to hit him... then i just left.

I believe most people call it the "Snake Cheat". As the player appears to be slithering on the ground. The player basicly looks like a cartoon charecter that had been run ove by a steam roller. And yes, it is a cheat and not a glitch.

My question is, do you just shoot where the player's skin would be or do you have to hit the image on the ground?

When a guy is "in the ground" and only a few inches of the body can be seen (as if he's swimming) = bug. It's not a cheat...

I'm not going to tell you how it works...for the game's sake. Too many people know it already. It has to do with ladders, yes, and it really needs to be fixed.
