This comes as a total suprise to me.

I thought that 100% Martin would sign on. I thought for sure he'd buckle under the pressure of the US. Apparently he buckles under pressure from Newfoundland about oil revenues, but not to the US. oOo:

Either way Martin is another lame duck. It only took him 8 months to make up his mind. Do the research and make a decision. Then make that decision public. If you really don't know what to do, call a referrendum. Or look at the polls that showed the majority opposed the thing.

It'll be interesting to see the fallout of this decision if it is true. How will the US take it? How will it effect NORAD and how will it effect the relationship between the two countries?

Its only an issue in Canada. The US government doesn't even care let alone the US media. They wanted us onboard, but now that were not, it doesn't change anything for them.

If it's trajectory goes over the north pole, I'd think so. The offensive missile that is.

We just don't give moral support to a missle defence program...we still are on board for helping track them and shit.

I was also watching CBC and they said Martin called Bush last Thursday to talk about the decision and Bush hasn't called him back yet.
