If you have WinZIP, you can open .PK3 files, but you cannot create new ones. Like Jingles said, the best one is PakScape.

Sorry Joe but yes you can create pk3 files with Winzip. The biggest problem is keeping the file structure intact but it does work. Havent tried PakScape yet but it sounds easier to use.

You need to edit your Localization file.

You could extract it from one of the pk3 files but that's a pain because you still need to know how to change the attributes. It's default at read only.

Send me an email and I will send you the loc.txt file to edit - jlandi@cox.net

once you get this file search for the string that you want to edit.
replace the second instant with you custom death message.
you can also edit your welcome screen, "press fire" with your own text.

now all you have to do is
create a global directory in your main folder
place this new edited text in the global directory and restart MOH

I hate to say this Joe but you're mistaken....you re-zip it and rename the file extension....

Hell... for that matter I could do it with old DOS PKZIP... actually I did do it before in a patch (batchfile) I made that fixed all the console bitching about "add yada yada yada to *_precache.scr"

Oh, well THAT I knew. You can rename the file extension and it's the same thing, sure. But PakScape is specifically built to open game-zipped files like .PK3's. Hell, any program that opens .ZIP files can open .PK3 files, but I'd rather use PakScape and save the hassle of having to rename it all.
