Christianity has done something right for a change...it took away one of the key elements to a shitty band...too bad it didn't make them break up like Blink 182.
I admit that the last few albums weren't that great. But back in '94 they caught my attention, and became my favorite band back then. They sounded completely different. Nobody that I know of used 7 string guitars and tuned down to (A). I think that guitar sound inspired other bands to do the same. Deftones for example, when they started they used standard tuning. Now they tune to (G#). I think Meshugga does too, heck they even use 8 string guitars!
My point is, they were my favorite band and it is a shame to see something like that happen.
I actually like this band too. "Follow The Leader" was a great record. Admittedly, their stuff since hasn't been the best. I bought "Follow the Leader" in 1999 and I pretty much listened to it exclusively that summer. Mind you, I was 26 at the time...not some dumb angst-ridden teenager looking to fit in with the crowd.
Maybe they needed something like this to shake things up a bit and get out of the rut.
Still funny though. Finding Jeebus and quitting the band is hilarious. happy:
I wonder if his quitting has something to do with a woman? He probably met an extremely hot chick who is super religious. I've witnessed things like that first hand. Hell, he's had a long career and made tons of money. Why not retire and stay home and plow some hot piece 'o ass? It's the American dream! biggrin:
