So how many Generation Xers do we have here? I'm re-reading Copeland's book for the nth time and I was wonder what fellow Xers thought of it, especially ten years on? Am I the only one pineing for the days of grunge and punk rock to return?

I was just listening to Pearl Jam, Collective Soul, Live, Dishwalla and Third Eye Blind.
Im a Boomer not an Xer. But as far as it go I enjoy the way rock evolves or de-evolves.
Oh yeah, yesterday I was listening to CS&N, Niel Young, Grateful Dead, Mason Profit, Allman Brothers, Indigo Girls Loggins and Messina and Bob Dylan.

Tomorrow, who knows?

Arhh well, that's just as good. I'm kind of annoyed that I've misplaced my "Harvest" album at the moment. I have a huge apetite for the likes of "Old Man".

On better news the Meat Puppets are getting together with Krist Novoselic for the next album and the Doors are reforming, although I doubt it'll be as great as with Jim.

Jane's Addiction play London on Monday, but sadly I was late booking and all is sold out... I may have to do the unthinkable and resort to using contacts. Who, out of the pre-1990 groups, have you seen live?

Pearl Jam, Collective Soul, Live, and Third Eye Blind are all great bands. All form the 90's.

Dishwalla is good too, but only that one song.

BTW what is the definition of Grunge? Your British, right? I think those words mean something different here. :P

Grunge isn't just from the 1980s, although it did die out by about 1994. But music died in 1995 anyway.

My "definition" comes from my time in America and Canada. But grunge isn't just a sound, its a feeling, that does sound corny, but its true; the feeling of teenage angst and bordem.

When I think of the original Grunge bands I think of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains............
