Default Garand mod now on aa.com server - 08-15-2002, 09:37 PM

Basically this lets u reload the garand whenever you want. No this isn;t my realism mod that will be coming next week.

And for those ssying "thats not realistic", to reload a garand mid clip u pressed a button and pulled the bolt back and removed the clip. It was easily done though most soldiers fired the rounds off, this basically gives u the option of doing either plus it saves u rounds.

Yes, you could. But in real life, I don't think they would spend the time taking the rounds out of a clip and putting them into another to save ammo. If you don't you got clips in your pouch or whatever with 2 or 3 rounds in them. You're pinned down by some Germans, and you just unloaded a clip. You reach in, put a clip in. It only has 2 bullets. You shoot the 2, and you're caught off guard by the sudden ping, you look down say, "What the-" You're dead. It is just my opinion, but don't let me get in the way of your mod, which sounds good by the way. This also isn't meant to be flamatory either. Just my honest opinion.

My only problem with it is that the reload speed is to fast.

Well i don't think its possible to adjust the reload speed any. A garand could be reloaded that fast anyway it only took a couple of seconds.

I'm leaving it up to you guys to decide how you like it. If not we can always go back to the old reload type
Personaly I rather yave it, not be able to reload but in real life you can reload the M1

[quote:6b6e4]Criticisms of the fact that one cannot "top off" a partially loaded clip while in the weapon appear to more theoretical than practical, for if one has time to realize the need to reload, he can simply insert a fresh clip and at leisure reload any partially expended one via single rounds of ammunition carried on his person. This is no secret to the seasoned infantryman, no matter what his generation.[/quote:6b6e4]

Actually in Korea american soldiers would have spare empty clips for the garand and throw them on the ground which would make the ping sound, the koreans would then think they were out of ammo and attack, only to find out the americans had plenty of ammo in their gun evil:

Oooh! I can't wait to try this mod!

Although, the "no reloading" quirk with the M1 is kinda cool. It forces you to make every shot count and to be smart about rushing into a fight.
