[quote="Captain Bunny":a7fd4]Through the shells and gun fire i heard a faint call that sounded like "cut". After a few seconds it became clearer. "CUT!! CUT!! CUT!!" then a small bearded man leaped into the trench beside me carrying what looked like a notebook. "Are you intelligence?" i gingerly asked him. "No im your damn director and you were supposed to die on the beach like all the other men did. You just ruined a very expensive take. Growlled Mr Speilberg.[/quote:a7fd4]
So I said f*** off mr. director, if you were running the real thing like this movie, we would have lost the war!
then I pulled the trigger on my M-1 only to realize that I was firing blanks.
So I clubbed him upside the head with the rifle butt.

I unscrewed the cap of my dented metal canteen and drank deeply. The sweet coolness of the water was slightly tinged with the salty taste of sea water and the metallic coppery taste of my own blood. Popping a fresh clip into my Thompson, I began to think of what to do next.
A young private from 2nd Rangers dove in the trench behind me, under a hail of tracers.
"Private Sparkes here, sir.", he wheezed as he tried to catch his breath. "Half my squad is gone, sir. I guess I'm with you now."
I gave the kid a quick nod of my head (christ, he couldn't have been more than 17 years old) and tried a strained smile. I signalled to my men to stay low and gather around me. I hadn't the slightest clue what to tell them.
I popped my head up out of the trench, quickly surveying the surroundings. Two MG-42s on the cliff's edge about 100m away, claymore mines straight ahead and to the left.
I ducked back into the trench with a better idea of where to go from here.
"Alright, listen up. We've got one shot at this. Layton, Morris, and Harvey, you proceed east down this trench about 50 yards. Sparkes, Pearson, and Paul, you go west, 50 yards. On my signal, put some fire on those MG-42s. Haynes, Pack, Robertson, and Gonzalez you're with me. Mind the claymores, there's a crater ahead that should give us defilade from those crews. Stick close and keep your heads down. Everyone clear? God be with you."
On my signal, the two groups of men proceeded down the trench to their points. Halfway down the trench, Sparkes suddenly dropped to his knees, then collapsed completely. There was a stream of blood oozing out of the right side of his helmet. Sniper.
Alrighty..take it from here!

Claymores?
the claymore mine was developed during Korea to stop human wave attacks, and was mostly used in 'Nam.

The squads I sent were just more casualties only 2 survived. I thought to my self "I must be more careful every descion I make may kill many men". I looked around and saw people dieing, blood, gore and I saw tears. I decidied we had to have more support fire. I called what was left of another company over. I said "Ok you, you and you provide cover fire while the rest of the company moves up. Then I yelled go! A artillery shell toke off two men's leg and ones head. The two hit in the leg were still alive saying to their buddys "help me. help me. I didn't let any of the men go after them they had no hope left to live. So I took out my Colt 45. and shot them in the head. Many of the men started cursing at me and some cryed. But we were still in the war. My squad was the farthest up the beach. I decided we had to get in the bunkers and turn the Mg-42s on the nazis...

Even as I am enlisted in the US Army, I still don't think I could move my legs when those doors opened at Omaha Beach. Too much fear. The life expancenty when those boat doors opened was three seconds.
If I had a choice, I'd stay in Italy, but if forced to, I will help invade Normandy.

The sight was...well there was no sight. The placed was filled dust and sand from the landmines popping my men one by one until me and Private Pee Wee was left all by ourselfs. Suddenly I heard the distinct sound of German speaking.
"Wus iz da Kapatin?"
"Achtung! LOs Los Los!!!"
Me and pee wee hid behind this huge pile of sand wondering what they were saying.
" werfen Sie Ihre Granaten"
"Jawolhl!!!"
Then total silence filled the atmosphere apart from the artillery pounding the beaches and MG-42s firing.
For a second I though the huns were gone but a grenade landed right before our eyes.
My eyes opened wide and I screamed "Take cover!!!" I knew I was gonna die......
Right then Pee Wee jumped and took the grenade and threw it back.
I heard a whisper "Schenide....."
Boom!!!!!
I peeped over the pile of sand and saw a pile of gore and a dead german body. It seemed the grenade exploded in such a way that the wooden handle on the grenade launched of the explosive part and flew straight to a soldier who was attempting to escape only to have a piece of wood stuck up his ass.
I opened my bottle to look for water. There was no water. I turned around to Pee Wee and said " You go ahead while I'll wait for reinforcements"......................

off topic: a bit stupid that one
anyways
I ordered Pee Wee to cover me so i could get to better cover, he didnt respond, i turned to him and saw his wide eyes fixed upon me, he hadn't even seen the Kraut who bagged him, his helmet had gone and the back of his had was missing, blood and skull where everywhere, i saw grey on my lap. I was on my own, it was now or never, i jumped up, tommy gun at the ready and unleashed the rounds left in the clip into a group of Germans on in a trench, the thud of the impact and the tearing sound of the bullets ripping through the mens bodies chilled me but i went on, not noticing the Kraut behind a rock to my left. I aimed at his head and fired, 'CLICK', shit!
the mag was dry, he sneered, i closed my eyes.
