is there a way to do this without the aide of autokick.. like maybe in a cfg file or something?

I use a personal firewall from TinySoftware.com - allows me to block IP's with minimal overhead.

That's about as basic as that method gets unfortunately, it's a low level workaround using direct manipulation of the machines routing table.

As Warloch mentioned a firewall can also do this, I use Linux firewalls so I'm not too sure which PC ones have IP banning.

im pretty sure i cant put a firewall on a rented clan server.. maybe you could help me figure this out over roger wilco or msn messenger? let me know

If it is a rented clan server they will not allow you to manually adjust the routing table. Your best bet would be to find someone in your clan that can run AutoKick for you 24/7, since AK works fine across the internet.

Yeah, I agree. The auto kick can spike your CPU when it checks the ban lists... I found that if I ran it on my client PC instead of the server I had much more control and a lot less "slow server" icons showing up. Plus its easier to get at the ban lists evil:
