FIRST THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE TRIED TO HELP.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPEND THE OTHER NIGHT.
DONE THE SETTINGS IN MULTIPLAYER LAST NIGHT FOR FREE FOR ALL
NUMBER OF PLAYERS ECT.GAVE MY SERVER A NAME.DIDNT CHOOSE DEDICATED SERVER OR GAMESPY JUST PRESSED PLAY GAME.MY MATE(56K MODEM)SEARCHED THE NET BUT COULDNT SEE MY SERVER NAME IN THE LIST.I GOT HIM TO REFRESH THE LIST BUT STILL NO JOY.I WENT BACK AND SELECTED GAMESPY,HE SEARCHED AGAIN AND STILL FOUND NOTHING.I WENT BACK AGAIN AND SELECTED DEDICATED SERVER BUT IT MADE MOHAA CRASH.WHATS THE COO.SOMEONE OUT THERE MUST KNOW.AM I BEEING A TWAT?OR IS IT THE GAME.I USE ADSL WITH PIPEX EXTREME COULD IT BE THAT?
LAST OF ALL DO I HAVE TO TYPE THE PASSWORD PROTECTION ECT IN TO THE CONSOLE EVERY TIME I WANT TO PLAY OR JUST ONCE AND CAN I GET RID OF IT IF I WANT TO CHANGE THE PASSWORD OR NUMBER OF PLAYERS?

I think you have to disable your firewall before it will show up on Gamespy. Sorry that is all I can think of for now.

if you have any sort of firewall at all, your game will not show up. This is good if you want to test a multiplayer map out for hiding spots or whatever without worrying about anyone ese shooting at you or finding the spots as well.

If he didnt know that a firewall wouldnt weork,.. then how would he know about ports?

firewall seems to be the number one answer but i would reccomend that u choose gamespy. it works all the time for me if i want to set up a game or have ur friends set up the game and u join.

just give the 56k guy u'r ip address and tell him to connect to that .... problem solved

THANKS TO ALL AGAIN,TURNED THE FIRE WALL OFF BUT FEEL A BIT UNEASY ABOUT THAT.TRIED THE IP THING BUT APPARENTLY IT CHANGES AS YOU GO OR SOMETHING,TO DO WITH ADSL.PORTS COOL,BIG WATERY PLACES FOR BOATS YEAH,HAVENT A CLUE ABOUT THEM.
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ISDN,DSL,ADSL AND TI?
THE SIGHT LOOKS SHIT HOT,A REAL SHOCKER WHEN IT OPENED.THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD PUT A GEFORCE 4 IN MY PC WITHOUT ME KNOWING.
GIVEN UP ON HOSTING MY OWN GAME,GOING TO PLAY ON YOUS INSTEAD SO SEE YA ALL SOON AND AGAIN MANY THANKS.G_MAN

I leave my firewall running and my server still shows up on gamespy.

Firewall....wots that then.....pah, virus's are cool, open up all your ports, spam as many forums and chat proggies as you can with meaningless crap, delete Norton and watch windows disappear. The ultimate online multiplayer experience.
