Default OK the realisms mods ready to go :) - 08-18-2002, 04:09 PM

Finished it off tonight.

Smg's now have refoil, the mp-40 has a little more range than the thompson and is a bit more accurate at range but is weaker.

Rifles now have recoil. Its not as obvious on the kar98k because by the time you've worked the bolt the aim is centered again. Garand its more obvious on especially if you try and go full semi auto on it

Sniper rifles have been given a bit of recoil as well. Also the mauser and springfield firing rates are more or less the same as they are both bolt action rifles.

mg-s also have heavy recoil and less accuracey over distance.

Grenades have been reduced to 2 per class, this helps reduce grenade spam and is accurate to what soldier in ww2 were issued.

Classes speeds have been changed. Rifle men are faster than other classes whereas mg men are a bit slower because of the obviously heavier weapon. Snipers are around the same speed as those with smg's to help balance it out.

the pistols bazookas and the shotgun basically remain the same as they were in the ckr version of the omd, also the sniper rilfes have the same reload speed as they did in the ckr mod.

Its ready to go anyway, im emailing it to rudedog althought its up to him when to put it up for trials.

remember to post comments on it, if im gonna improve it from this beta version i need to know what people like and dont't like and then adjust it accordingly.

Yeah people trotting about with lame little mg's using them as sniper\assualt rifles from any god damn distance they need wouldn't like it much if a bit of SKILL was involved in the kill.

Can anyone please tell me how the ckr mod has the name "realistic" associated with it because i see no realism whatsoever in it.

I am finally glad someone did something about the accuracy of the MG's. That is really a noble move. I'm so sick of running out in Destroyed Village, just to get mowed down by a freaking StG44 from the distance a sniper rifle could kill you. Though, I have yet to try it out. I'm looking forward to it though.

its hard to encorporate realism into a game so unrealistic.

hopefully this hits the spot. all crow king basically did was increase damage on guns, and grenades. lets hope this one is a little better.

Yup my whole intention was to nerf those fucking machine guns as much as i could and to give the game some semblance of balance instead of everyone automatically being an stg or bar whore on every map.

People seem to forget when mohaa was in development almost everyone on the forum was hoping for a type of dod styled gameplay.. What we got was a friggin deathmatch with ww2 weapons that had just stupid range and damage.

The ckr mod imo is not realism based at all. Tell me this how many rifles were used in ww2 in comparrison to lmg's such as the bar or the stg 44? The rifle was 100x more common with ease. Im a squad of 10 men in ww2 you would come across about 6 men with a garand a couple with thompsons\carbines and maybe 1 with a bar.

The way i have styled this mod is to give the best range and accuracey to riflemen\snipers and medium range at best to smg's and lmg's. This is the way the game SHOULD be. People wanted something realistic im giving them something realistic. evil:

Pm me when it goes up on rudes server, i may have to stop by. Sounds like a great mod. Fixes my few complaints about "realism" mods.

Well the rocket damage hasn't been touched really. Reason being in real life if you were to stand close to one of these going off it would probably do next to nothing to you. The blast is basically a concussive blast meaning theres no shrapnel flying out of it.

You should have added to it just a little... I hate walking around a corner and having a tube hit me square in the face from 1 foot and the bastard lives through it. We should both die. The rocket guy should die from a blast five feet in front of him no matter what. That would put a dent in rocketeers and is true.

A modern day AT4 Straight from my army handbook.

Rocket:

Caliber 84mm
Muzzle Velocity 290 mps (950fps)
length 460 mm (18 inches)
Weight 1.8 kg (4 pounds)
Minimum range traingin 30 meters (100 feet)
Combat 10 meters (33 feet)
Arming 10 meters (33 feet)
Maximum Range 2,100 meters (6890 feet)
Maximum effective range 300 meters (985 ft)

Launcher

Length 1,020 mm (40 inches)
Weight (complete system) 6.7 Kg (14.8 pounds)
Rear sight Range indicator , graduated in 50 meter increments

I would imagine the older tubes weighed considerable more considering an AT4 is fiberglass and some other light weight matterials. Just something to think about.

Oh and the 33 ft minimum combat/arming is when you get some cover. i would say inside of 20 to 15ft is pretty leathal.

Just a note i dont think arming distance cant be accounted for in mohaa. It would be pretty funny to fire a rocket and some guy 3 feet in front of you and "peg" him America's Army style.

It probably would. The rocket had a delayed charge so after it punched through metal it would blow up a second or so later. And a humans considerably softer than metal

im shitty my pants in anticipation. im so suck of getting mg sniped i want to see more rifles and less bars and tommys and all the crap auto weapons that make the game a run out in the open and get mowed down. the reason why a game like operation flashpoint is so realistic is because the m60 and pk machine guns are total crap. so everyone uses a m16 if a TC for WW2 OFP comes out screw mohaa
