Default Ps2 Disc Read Errors - 06-02-2005, 11:50 PM

Wow, none of my ps2 games would load all of sudden today. Don't you just hate when it just happens all at once. Well any way I got fed up with it and slammed it on my desk a few times. I finally decided to try to fix it myself, so I took it apart and cleaned the lens for about an hour. So I tested it and it didnt work. Then I adjusted the lens height a few times and tested it. The games work once and then after that would't work at all. I was finally getting fed up until I came across this website that said put scotch tape in an H shape on top of the cd. I guess the tray gets worn or dirty and will read and causes the disk to slip. Well I did that and the game loaded up in five seconds. So yeah I was pissed because I did 2 and a half hours of work and all I had to do was put tape on the cd. Just wanted to get this off my chest. Here is a picture of a cd for reference.

Or you could spend 30 bucks on a mod chip, get a network adapter, slap a HD in your PS2 and load all your games on said HD. No DRE and significantly cut loading times.
