I've always found there are 1 or two settings you can turn down in order to help your game speed, without really sacrificing the looks of the game. I tweaked around in the settings and found these were enough to make the game stunning and lag free.
Lighting settings effects the look of the player models, its the differance between them looking like they do in the videos or not. It has to do with normal mapping the models, medium does only player models, high does player and vehicles. Also, when i commented before that my game didnt look as nice as miyagis i had texture filtering on medium, put it to high and was impressed by the change. Dynamic shadows is off because it was causing a graphics glitch.

All shots from a nearly full 64 person server, i beleive i was 63 joining. No lag.
Helo fly by, he let rockets fly into the building next to me.

I tossed all my C4 onto one spot and set it off, no lag.

Nice draw distance.

Yeah, I'm finding that on the few servers where people stick together in their teams, the fighting is fucking leet rock:
Otherwise, its just sort of DC repeated...I'm actually liking the 16 man map more than the 32, in the 16 man map everyone sticks close, all the action is hot and huge, happens right in your face, and everyone keeps teaming together to push forward. In the 32 player map, you see your squad leader fly by above, giving you the finger, while one of your teammates is over in fucking guantanimo, and the other is practicing knifing the battleship for skills...
Yeah, i'm really liking the teamplay aspect the smaller space brings. But, who doesnt want to just go apeshit and fly a helicopter around in circles above the crane, firing wildly at teammates

For anyone wanting to run 1280x1024 or whatever edit your short cut so it has this at the end
+szx 1280 +szy 1024
Or you can replace those to whatever you want like 1600x1200 or whatever.
Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 Demo\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024
