They are right on about the maps though. . .ESPECIALLY Kabur Dam - that map is 10 Shades Of Kick Ass, but is IMPOSSIBLE to enjoy without a vehicle. . .

So you have it? nice, I'll be frikkin waiting till Friday or so till I get mine.
I've never liked IGN, nor Gamespy, in fact I never buy anything based on big reviews, all I needed was that demo so I could see for myself.
Remember when BF1942 came out or even the mod DC? Did those 2 games play perfectly at release? hell no, the little bad points mentioned by IGN could be majorly helped or fixed in a patch or 2.
The basics of BF2 just work, theres always going to be niggles in such a huge game so I'm happy with it now and expecting to be happier once small things are ironed out
Every time i play i discover new things and tactics but i've not checked out the BF-Recorder yet, any good anyone? would love to film some stupid stunts with it...... dance:

Yeah same here, anytime i play i usually end up trying something new, last game i just came out of i was on the mec side whoring our artillery area with a t-90 tank, the us team just kept pouring troops over towards the artillery time and time again. Usually im flying around the map in a jet but that was a nice change.

Theres quite a few reviews on the demo, but so far, IGN and GS are the only ones with reviews of the full game.

Am I correct in saying that rank is only recorded in EA servers?

Yup. Stops people doing gay shit to receive rank like 2 people on an empty server one using a medic class constantly killing and reviving a player just to get his rank increased.
