Fuck all wrong with steam in my opinion, must of you nubs probably don't remember what it was like years ago trying to get patches for games when they were just released, you could easily spend hours in a line to get the patch, steam does it automatically and obviously this is a bad thing. rolleyes: oOo:
Steam had a flaky start but its improved a shitload.

Sorry but steam sucks dog balls. I'd rather patch a game myself.....been doing it for years.
Answer me this: Why do i have to go through steam when i simply want to play the single player version?

Thats just part of the program, its mainly i assume to keep the game updated plus valve obviously want steam to get more widely accepted so they combined it with the source engine to a degree.
When steam first started out it was flaky yeah, its not suprising though a company releasing something like this so people can buy\dload games through and keep games updated it hasn't been done before. For me it works perfectly and has done since more or less the beginning. Only ever problem ive had is occasionally you can't log in because of updates being loaded up onto the servers. Besides that the programs been flawless for me.
I really think all these "problems" are more word of mouth bs from older versions of steam rather than the program actually being bad. If something gets a bad name from the outset its hard to change peoples opinions on it.
