[quote:3b62d]Like many of you know, I don't have a "steady real job". So I've been doing alot of volunteer work recently. Some people say, "Derek you are f'ing retarded. Why volunteer?" Well, it makes me happy knowing that I made someone else happy. I usually help out elderly people do stuff around the house --> fix air conditioner leaks, mow grass, weeding, etc.

But my parents still feel that I should be kept busy for not having a job. So I've been given some of the weirdest assignments. I pretty much converted my pool from a swamp to a pretty nice body of water. I have been mowing my grass and my grandmother's grass (P'burg). I have been running small errands. I have power washed, sanded, and stained my shed. And today was the most outragous thing. I was up on my roof (specifically sitting on the chimney 50ft up) trying to pull out a 100lb metal tube. We're getting rid of our pellet stove and installing a new gas powered fireplace (easier on my parents since my brother and I will be at college). So this metal pipe would NOT budge for the love of God. I was downstairs trying to lever the thing with a pole while my face had soot all over it. I was up on the chimney pulling it out. Finally, it budged. Here are some pictures that I made my dad take. (ps yeah I was wearing the band shirt. I use them for dirty work :-D)

So if anyone needs their chimney cleaned, I have some experience in that field. Call me ;-)[/quote:3b62d]
