im using norton right now and it takes up a ridiculous amount of memory, so it there something out there that is better, if not equivulent to it that's not a resource hog?

AVG fucking owns...its free and works really well. Ive used it exculsively for 2 years now.

PC-cillin is what I use. Got it with the mobo for free, works really well and uses hardly any memory. biggrin:

I've got AVG Free for viruses and the new Microsoft AntiSPyware beta for spyware. Neither seems to hog that much.

kaspersky is too fuking complicated to use imo ... i use symantec av corp... i havent really noticed it using a shit load of resources ... about 23 mg of mem i think.

PC-cillin is by far the best AV-prog Ive tried to date. Really simple to use and blocks everything. Something I found really handy is the "Emergency lockdown". As soon as PC-cillin detects a virus, it gives you the option of an emergency lockdown, which locks all outgoing and ingoing traffic.
