I've noticed that there are a lot of problems with this. If you are running Windows XP, and have 512MB of Ram or more, then the ATI cards experience slowdowns when using 3d applications. This has to do with the video drivers, and there is a fix for it. Go to ATI's website and search for the driver for your card. I'm not sure if everyone card has this problem, but check it out, it's worth it.

This is still a work in progress.

Some Acronyms:
MOH:AA - Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
AA.com - short for AlliedAssault.com
SP - single Player

There are several version of this game, based on what part of the world you live in. Remember to download the version that corresponds to your game version.

2015 (http://www.21015.com) developed this game for EA Games ( http://www.ea.com ), who published the game. 2015 no longer supports the game. EA has taken over all developing and publishing of any future expansions packs or patches

Installation:
How do I enable the console?
Add "+set ui_console 1" to your MOHAA.exe or shortcut It should look like this
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\MOHAA.exe" +set ui_console 1
You can also enable it via the the game itself
Main menu -> click the radio on the left hand side->Advanced options->make sure console has a red X in the box.

Why do I get this (openGL error) and how do I fix it?
The default drivers that load with your operating system. Does not support OpenGL. Download the latest drivers from
your video card's web site.

How do I remove the intro movies at the beginning of the game?
Add +set cl_playintro 0 to your MOHAA.exe shortcut. It should look something like this
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\MOHAA.exe" +set cl_playintro 0
Notice the space after the last quote and before the + sign.

Can I use a joystick with MOH?
Yes, Start MOHAA. Enter you console by pressing the ~ "tilde" key on the keyboard. Enter in_joystick 1
You will now be able to map your buttons to your game pad.

Multiplayer:

Multiplayer play modes

Deathmatch
This is your regular deathmatch. Everyone for himself, it doesn't matter how many times you were dead, it doesn't matter what uniform you're wearing, your task is to kill as many as possible within a set period of time.

Team Deathmatch
This is like regular deathmatch, but you don't kill your own teammates, in fact you pay extra attention to NOT to kill your own teammates, especially when "friendly fire" is on. Whichever team reaches a set number of combined kills wins, if time runs out whichever team with more combined kills wins.

Round-based TDM
The difference between TDM and RB-TDM is that in RB-TDM, within each "round" (a set period of time), you do not re-spawn when you got killed. You need to wait until the round is over before you spawn again, thus making the task of keeping yourself alive much more important than in TDM.

Objective-based match
In this mode you and your team can win by 1) Accomplishing the objective(s) or 2) Wiping out the opposing team altogether. Examples of an objective include planting a bomb, acquiring a data disk, killing a target, etc.

How do I get my server to show up in GameSpy?
There are two ways to setup a server
If your setting up a server that you are playing on.
Main menu -> Multiplayer -> Start Game -> pick your game type -> check off the box next to "use gamespy" -> start game
If your setting up a dedicated server, you have two options
1st - Main menu -> Multiplayer -> start Game -> pick your game type -> make sure both "Dedicated server" and "Use Game Spy" are checked off -> start game

Is there any other program besides GameSpy to play on-line?
If your version of MOH is upgraded to V1.11. You may then use the built in game spy viewer minus all the popup adds. If you still want to use another program. Try The All-SeeingEye. Located at: http://www.udpsoft.com/eye/

How do I setup a private server? so only people with the correct password can join?
You must add the following lines to your server.cfg file. If you do not know how
to do this, please see "Bull's dedicated server and Rcon guide". The link can be found on the main page of this site.

Where x is the number of slots you wish passworded.
Where password is the password you want to use.



To remove the password from your server:
[code:df83d]set sv_privatepassword "" [/code:df83d]
Notice one space after sv_privatepassword and no spaces between the quotes. You can send this command to the server via rcon. but remember if the password is part of your server.cfg file it will be reset upon restarting your mohaa.exe.

How do I join a server when it's passworded?
ASE:
Highlight your server you wish to play on, that requires a password.
Press f4.
Enter your password in the text box labeled password.
That's it your password will stay with that server until you change it.
Double click on the above server to play.

Built in GameSpy browser V1.11 and up:
Start your MOHAA.exe
Enter the multiplayer room (brown closed door)
press ~ (will bring down the console. You will need to enable consol first if you have not done so already)
type: password X Where X is the server's password
press ~ again to close console
Enter join room
click on Join Internet game
You can either launch gamespy and connect that way, or you can connect via the IP address of the server.


How do I install a mod, map or skin?
Download your your map, mod or skin. This file may be compressed and have a zip extension. Unzip the *.pk3 file and place this file in your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\main directory.
You should notice other pk3 file there. Once you have uploaded your map, mod or skin. you must restart your MOHAA.exe before it will take effect.

How do I kick players via rcon
The best way to kick players is to follow the following rules
Via rcon
Rcon status
This will return a status screen with all the clients: client number, score, ping, name, lastmsg(??) and address
use the client number to kick the player in questions.
rcon client kick x x=the client number
To kick all the clients
rcon client kick all
Make sure you have a valid reason to kick a player. Try not to kick someone for being a good player.

How do I call a vote to kick a player or change a map?
To call a vote to kick someone follow these rules:
via your console
callvote kick client_name
To vote.
via your console
type yes or y to vote yes
type no or n to vote no

You can also call a vote to change maps
callvote map dm/mapname
Remember the mapname is the complete name including the map type.


What is a glitch?
A glitch is when a developer makes a mistake when making a map. Glitches give you an unfair advantage over everyone else on the server. You will be able to see your enemy and shoot them. When they will not be able to see you or kill you. You will not make many friends here or on most MOHAA servers. Anyone starting there own dedicated game server should check out DogMeat's Multi map fix located at: http://tfo.servebeer.com/ Download his most recent version.
