It's all about server balance. I only dislike rockets when there are more than 3-4 of them on a server. You can normally out-skill and avoid rockets and take them down no problems, unless you're faced by 4-5 of them.
In this case you can still beat them (due to the dozens of self kills that would initiate) but you die so often that it becomes old.
The thing is, the same can be said for any weapon.
A server flooded with snipers is just as bad. As it is for shotguns. Just as annoying is a realism server full of STG44s.
A server full of smg and mg users would be annoying too.
I like the odd bazooka in a game, the odd shotgunner. It gives your enemies an identity that you can enjoy exploiting.

I love n00bs, they make me look good. How can you hate a n00b? They're so cute.

I wouldn't say that people who use rockets are noobs. Basically, to kill them someone with a rocket, it has to be almost a dead-on hit. The reload time is so long, that if you miss, you're as good as dead in some cases. It does take skill to use the rocket launchers.

Hitting anything with the rocket from any type of range can be damned hard. It is hard to tell when and which way the rocket will turn. I've seen people use the rocket with skill but most are new players that just blast the wall beside you or the floor at your feet.

I am definately a noob only playing for about 3 weeks. When I first started, I used the rocket just to get some kills. Realized that to improve with any other weapon, I needed to use the correct one for the circumstances. Starting not to like the rocket since a close hit from long range will kill with no idea it is coming. Get tired of 6 Rocket Rangers in 1 game especially when they camp on a spawn spot. I have been using the Thompson and Springfield trying to get better with both of them. Any hints or suggestions are appreciated. oOo:

You're on the right track, WCP Dad. Use the Thompson first to get used to moving around in the environment and to get used to the game controls. The full auto will help you get some "spray and pray" kills.
From there, I would move on to the M1 or the BAR, not the Springfield. The BAR will give you the accuracy you'll want and a pretty good rate of full auto fire. It's pretty heavy, though, so you'll move a lot slower.
The semi-auto action of the M1 makes the learning curve a little less steep than the sniper rifle but it's harder to get used to than the full auto weapons. The M1 has great long range accuracy and good medium/short range stopping power (and it sound cool...heh *PING*). Plus, you'll never hear any idiots complaining that you're using an M1.
Sniping is an artform when one wants to be good at it. It takes great skill and patience. Don't mind what naysayers might say about it being a "no skill" weapon. I've been playing MOH:AA since day 3 and I still can't snipe for shite. Mind you, I don't practice sniping all that much. If you want to snipe, practice like a crazy mofo to get good.
Hope this has been helpful. Good luck.

I will take your suggestions and try the M1. I do use the Bar on the more open maps for its longer range. Although, I really do enjoy seeing the enemy through the scope and squeezing off a kill shot.
Hope to see ya on a server soon.

[quote="Rev Aristotle Jones":64df8]Stop whining.
Perhaps if you didn't run round the map like your tail was on fire you wouldn't get ripped apart by these so called "camper n00bs".
A little caution perhaps? Maybe lob a grenade in the hidey holes? Maybe play like a soldier and not like a Quaker?[/quote:64df8]
Well said...
