I think it's such a touchy subject that I don't think any game companies would go near a shooter game where you play as a german. People are fairly ignorant and instantly think nazi.

True, but at the same time the russians did some pretty bad shit during ww2 as well, but they're portrayed as "goodguys" in these games. Id love a company growing the balls to do a wehrmacht campaign, only so many times can you charge through mosta these games whoring mainly american weapons.

In a realistic German-Campaigned game, you could never win. I'm sure that has a big deal to do with it.

Don't have to win really, could end in the way the war ended, the cod games always seem to take the perspective from one solider for each country so it would fit in with one german soldier telling his story of the war.

if the developers had any skill they'd be able to end the game wthout an "OMG U BETE DA BAD DUDE SCOURGE, GJ!!!" ending.

it probably wouldn't be a popular thing to make really. First off, you know it would be banned in germany and countries formerly occupied by nazi germany. Also, it would be considered as glorifiying nazism. I agree with you that it should be fair to create a german campaign, but no producer or developer would take that dive.

Found a mod for the demo, lets you play as axis defending the guns against the brits.

Hmm, maybe there was a mode for german campaign that got scrapped. ed:

Heh it would be awesome to play as Germans
The only game I can think of that let you play as germans in single player was BF1942...

The graphics are quite good, EVEn on low, my comp is running it @ 800x600 with all low settings, this is what it looks like.

I even ran the game on medium and averaged 24fps, I am using a geforce 3 Ti200 64mb card, oc'ed like hell ya, but it runs perfectly. I think it has more to do with system related running issues maybe gerv. What I really like as said before is that the game really gets you into the mood for playing.

Well, whattaya know! My comp ran the demo just fine!
I thought it was very well done. Sure, the grenade system will take some getting used to, but the graphics and the pace of the demo were pretty impressive.
The kar is a monster. rock:

Wow this game RAPES my computer.
1680x1050 4xAA, 16xAF, everything turned up - 30fps.
But unlike other games, this is actually playable at 30fps. I still don't like seeing it that low. cry:
Stuff I like: Sexy new graphics. Models and textures are great. New grenade system (like Halo PC's). Sound.
Stuff I don't like: Controls feel kind of slow and clunky, but maybe it's just me. Smoke - looks awesome from afar but complete shit up close. Performance, of course.

game played fine for me, with mostly everything on high and aa2x, maybe dipped as low as 30fps in some points.

9800 Pro, A64 3K+, 1GB Corsair checking in...
Game ran fine at 1024x768, High detail with 2x AA.
As for the gameplay, well... I wasn't blown away. OK, well, technically, those fucking grenades got me a few times, but you get my drift. The weapon models were very good, the smoke wasn't distracting and the health system was fine. However, the lack of directional freedom was annoying, the scripting was too heavy and the limited sound bytes made me want to kill those brits.
Damn wankers... happy:
