I'd agree with that to a point. I enjoyed St. Anger, even though it was different than the "classic" (read: better) sound of the band.

I'd say Metallica is underrated because of the horseshit they spewed out their asses in the 90's.

Blackened is fucking awesome, great start to the whole cd. I can listen through to the end of And Justice.

I'm not saying I don't like Fade to Black...well, ok, I am saying I don't like it. I don't HATE it, though.

I think it's because it's the only Metallica song that chicks liked in high school. biggrin:

I concur.

So many more bands put out better thrash even during Metallica's prime. Kreator, Sodom, and Slayer all had way better stuff at the same time.


I'm not saying Metallica is bad, because they did kick major ass and definitely influenced thrash and all metal. But they are utterly overrated.

I wouldn't say Metallica are "underrated" these days...just loathed by a lot of fans of their older stuff. I can see why...I get it. I still like their music, however, and feel they still have something to offer to the genre.

i dont really listen to them. enter sandman is just one of the first songs i heard by them and i really liked it so it stuck with me
