The doom 3 models looked far from "shiny and plastic". If anything its the only game so far thats made me feel as if the enemies had some weight behind them mainly becaase of the bumpmapping detail and the shadows.

Can anyone give me a run down of what you did in Quake 1 & 2 since this game picks up at the end of 2.

I'll be "getting it" as well. Id probably actually get it if the MP wasnt just deathmatch. If it had a CTF or BF style of play i would actually avoid baking the cupcakes.
