Please keep this thread quiet, as the shock of seeing his ZEN further embarassed may cause COLEMAN to release a dirty bomb in Band Class -
Theres a new IPOD and its the 5G. I SERIOUSLY hate APPLE - but they may have finally done something to get me to not purchase a second-hand refurbisehd ipod-product: added video to their IPOD. The new iPOD's come in 30 and 60 gigs, which is more than enough for music, and probably just enough to slide on some of your favorite Telly Shows. The battery still "only" gets 15 hours out of it (seriously - who is away from a plug for 15 fucking hours) for music, and I heard 2-3 hours for the video. At first I was thinking, hell thats pretty weak for the video (and it kinda is), but video really isnt the main drive of the ipod - its the music. The video usage I can easily see being directed to people who want a lil variety on the train-ride to work (me for example). Shows like AQUA TEENS, HARVEY BIRDMAN, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT - hell even LOST are perfect for this sucker (in case you missed a show the day before. . .im sure folks will start releasing shows in the m4k format very soon) - as the iPOD would start getting charged as soon as you get to your desk.

With the student discount - brings total price to less than 290.

Will be getting mine on FRIDAY.

you gotta convert all of your video files to like quicktime or some shit tow watch them. Plus, it's one small-ass resolution.
The movie thing is just a gimmick...just a gimmick.

I only use my ipod when I'm on the go: walking/driving/whatever. Can't really watch videos while doing those. |

Fuck, that's hot! I'd use that shit on the bus all the time.
I've been toying with the idea of getting a portable DVD player for the bus, but if this iPod plays vids n' shit, I might go for that.

Still, watching "Jackass: The Movie" on the bus in the morning would be fucking leet.

 Ipod Shuffle 1gig: $129Ipod Nano 2 gig: $199
 Ipod Nano 4 gig: $249
 Ipod 5g 30 gig: $299
 Ipod 5g 60 gig: $399

So what the fuck is up with that. The price differance from 4 gig to 30 is mear pitance. Plus the nano doesnt support video like the 30 gigger. Frankly all this does is make the Nano pretty fucking pointless, esspecially since the 5g is pretty fucking small it self.

Im assuming the mini was cut out of the line up and replaced with the nano. Since a 5 gig mini would be at right at $299 with the 30 gig making it completly fucking worthless.

For a compairison... I have 25 movies on my HDD right now, they total 23.8 gigs. Season 2 of Futurama at 3.25 gigs. Then everything Family guy, all 5 seasons, and movie; at 9.97 gigs. If anyone feels the need to purchase a 60 gig ipod for movies, there a fucking moron.

The idea of watching movies on the iPod's little screen doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. I'd prefer to listen to music whilst leering at the attractive woman sitting across from me on the train. |
