[quote:9a37c]Ads in games: do you mind them? Personally, I like product placement in full 3D games because it gives me a sense of reality. I'm not looking for "X-brand soda" on a machine in a FPS when the reality could be upped with "Coca-Cola" on there. In other words, as long as the placement is smart (billboards, posters in appropriate spots) then I'm all for it.

Shockwave games? They're a pain in the ass anyways.[/quote:9a37c]

I agree with this guy

I was just anout to say the same thing. 100% agree with that paragraph.

As long as the ads as unobtrusive, I don't care.

Same here, if anything it adss to the realism to see brands you're familiar with. Ads and commercialism are such a big part of everyday life if a games going for a realistic theme thers no reason not to have them.

they are already in some games, so as long as they dont slam a big old Marlboro stamp on a gun in a new FPS then im ok with it.

you see signage on walls in lots of games. If thats all it is then thats OK. As long as it isnt Viagra or Trojan or something along those lines.

nothin new...ggs buy some racing game and you got sponser shit all over cars, dub magazine rides.

Almost all sports games have mods to place the actual ads in the stadiums, arenas.

To be honest I'd prefer to have ZERO ads in games.

Games are a place I like to go to to escape reality, I hate advertising with a passion.
