Default Mapping Question : Help Required Please! - 08-29-2002, 02:10 PM

Hi,

I am in the process of creating a map and am wondering if it is possible to develop sections of it in different files and "glue" them all together afterwards.

e.g. Build a terrain and all the other buildings in their own individual files. Then once all done, effectively copy and paste the buildings into the new map?

Thanks!

You can do it by making your buildings seperatley then saving them as prefabs, however make your terrain fisrt, them add a base for each building, select a base then save it as prefab eg building 1. open your editor, then select load prefab and build away.
Making a base first will help you so you don't have to try and postion your built house afterwards as it can get messed up.
Also when making your prefab building, make it facing the way it will be in the map.

Ok, thanks.

When you mean a base I assume you mean a flat bit of land in the floor so the brushes dont run the risk of overlapping?
