Now, the only reason I bring this up is because I can't verify anything...seeing as how I haven't received my box yet. Can anyone, on this board, confirm or deny what these guys are saying?

According to ms this only affects 1 in 75000 consoles, how they pulled that number out of their ass im not exactly sure.
Probably badly fitted heatsinks or something causing the instability.
