Ask one of your comrades. Did they just mail you a beret without telling you how to wear it/fit it or something? That'd be sort of goofy.

I'm presuming its a brand new beret

You will need a bowl of warm but not hot water

Cut out the label found on the inside of the beret - it will make shaping it alot easier

Pull the drawstring so its tight but not too tight, its going to hurt your head, dont cut off the excess string yet

Dunk the beret into the bowl of water, try not to let the band on the end of the beret touch the water as it can go funny someitmes.

Once its soaking take it out of the bowl and stick it on your head it should be around 2 fingers above your eye all the way around the head. Make sure the badge is over the left eye and hold it in place, whilst doing that pull the excess material (flappy bit) over your right ear. THe material will stretch if you pull it hard enough, allow it to do so until its a suitable position. usually just touching the top of your right ear.

Wear the beret for a few hours for it to dry slightly.

Then stick is somewhere warm like an airing cupboard, for a couple more hours, before it dries out i'll then fold it up and stick it under my mattress overnight, allowing it to fold in the future for storage in your pocket or whatever.

You might want to repeat the process a few times before you get it right and cut off the drawstring. Some other people have a bowl of warm water and a bowl of cold water, but im not sure on the process to do it that way.

Hope this helps.

+1's welcome! rock:

[url=http://www.insatsplutonen.se/basker.php:c0468]Swedish site[/url:c0468]

Here in Sweden, most dudes wear the beret like the dude in that site. You can also see the size of our emblems on the pics in there.

You yanks were it like in the page Zonah posted.

Wtf!?

I would fit it awhile then find out if there's a special way to wear it from a NCO or someone You'd think if there was some unique instruction for a Swedish style beret that was different from the universal way of fitting a beret they'd tell you about it. Good luck whatever you decide on doing and hopefully none of our advice gets you in trouble.
