Its because they based the movie on the most intelligent person on the show. If they based it on say Peter or Quagmire then it would have been a little bit more funny cause they are there for comic relief. however if they did that they probably would not have got a whole movie becuase lets face it, a movie about Peter would be funny but then get boring unless they had some good writers.
