What do you think about Russia's Nuclear purposal for Iran? -

What do you guys think about Russia's purposal for Iran to continue its Uranium Enrichment in Russia? Personally, I am a bit wary, and I don't like the growing closeness between the three, or more specifically, i am troubled by the growing closness between Russia and China, with Iran just making the whole equation/situation more complicated.

Russia's government owns most the news companies, and many many members of the Russian parliament hold stock in that oil company, Gazprom, the one that as involved in the oil pipeline controversy with Ukraine last month. Russia is slowly turning back into the USSR, and it's not all that surprising Russia and China are teaming up.
Edit: And since China is in need of more oil since it's 1B+ population is starting to drive more cars, an alliance with an major oil exporting nation is a sound idea.
Edit2: I mean look at the US, were nice and cozy with the Saudis.

I agree with Russia becoming the USSR. The Soviet Union is coming back.

Only by Man Power. China has a navy only good for patrolling. Obsolete aircraft, very little modern stuff but they aren't even trained very well with it. Same goes for the infantry. Lots of man power, ill-equipped and ill-trained. Not only that, but China cut down on man-power recently. However, with the amount of man-power they have they are still and most definitely a force not to be messed with. Unless of course you are willing to have hudreds of thousands of soldiers sacrifice their lives.
Anyway... US Technology > Chinese Man-power > US Man-power > Chinese Technology

I agree Jin, but one thing to remember, their navy is not as bad as you think, they have been building a lot lately and they even mimmicked our Aegis technology which is not good for the US or anyone China doesn't like. Otherwise, you're right, they only have more people.

Yeah, was going to include that. Russia's OLDER technology is still very effective. Obviously a much better airforce. I haven't found any good sites about their current military situation. Same with Iran.
Got any links?

true but it still has a long way to go. No doubt within the next 20-30years Chinas navy may be comparable but right now...I dont think so. And a navy would be the most important thing in fighting a concentional war with China.

CIA factbook has good info on military of all countries in the world, but type random sentences into google and you usually find something suitable.

The state of Russia's military two years ago:
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/ ... 7BEE43.htm
Reliable?
About their technology:
http://www.pinr.com/report.php?ac=view_ ... guage_id=1
"While its army, navy and air force are in dangerously derelict conditions, every part of the formula for Russia's resurgence as a military powerhouse is still in place. Russia has been consistently fielding top-notch military technology at various international trade shows, and has been steady in the demonstration of its capabilities."
About Iran:
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.c ... BERIV1.DTL
In other words, Iran is at a higher state of alertness than we are?
Can't find any other clear facts about it's military state.

Russia have solved this whole problem, even if they have their own interests close to heart (its not as though US or UK has not before) because if the US, UK etc keeps pushing for sanctions and ignoring talks then eventually they will be the ones paying for it in higher gas prices.
Anyway how did uranium enrichment get onto military strength hake:
