Default Camera Question - 02-07-2006, 07:16 PM

My camera supports 4cm Macro, yet when I try to take a close up photo it's completely blurred out. Is there any specific reason as to why it does this?

Trust me I've tried that, I've even gotten a ruler out to measure the distance from the lens to the object.

lol, that's a funny mental image. Maybe try stepping back then zooming in if you have a good optical zoom?

did you put the camera in macro mode? Make sure that the red light shines on the object before you take the shot. Sometimes the light is too close and will shine on something else instead of your intended object. If that's the case, let the red light hit the object and then move the camera so the object appears in your view.

does your shit have a auto focus. Like half press the button for a bit and it will focus the image and then fully press?

the red light is off-center. It shoots out a laser to the object and it bounces back to the camera. By doing this, it detects how far away it is. Then it makes the appropriate changes in the lense to focus. It's usually located at the top corner of the front of the camera. If you hold down the "take picture button" half way, it'll shine and then it will focus automatically for ya.
