I'd post stories about Canadian politics, but only me and ninty would be able to debate about it.

I didn't see the lie. Was it because Bush said that no one anticipated the levees would break? And that another guy in the video - not in the same frame shot as Pres. Bush so you can't be sure he was conferenced in when that presentation was given - says that it is a "concern" - note that he doesn't say it will happen. Just that it is a concern. For all we know there was another guy that told the President not to worry about the levees.
Nice find on the video, but I think we are beating a dead horse here. Instead of talking about what we did or didn't know before the storm hit, we should be talking about what they are doing now....or more specifically, what the New Orleans and Louisiana governments are doing now.

so he was told on August 28th about a super storm that hit early morning August 29th that could destroy a town which is under the sea level and has been a disaster waiting to happen for decades.
Things should have been done Ages ago for that city, not 24 hours.

Bush said after Katrina hit he didn't know that such a big storm was coming...did you guys forget about that? I mean if you want I can find some sources, but its pretty obvious..bush said he had no idea that Katrina was going to have a bad effect on new orleans...this video of course shows he was lying all along. Beating a dead horse or not, this shows just how fooked bureaucracy is in washington.

tell me machette why he would want to "lie" all along. What does he gain by doing this? He sure as hell didn't gain public approval rating points. But like everyone said, what was he going to do 36 hours before the storm hit that would save thousands of lives. Do you want him to go on the TV and say, "New Orleans, I'm sorry, but my analysts and I have come to the conclusion that you're all screwed and are going to die. ...Now you can't call my a lying S.O.B. because I warned ya!"

I'm not saying this b/c I'm conservative. I'm saying it b/c it's a reality.
How is hurricane relief effort a bipartisan topic? Conservatives are racist, so that means that would want the levee's to fail and kill all the black people. big conspiracy.

Have not really seen much into this issue but I personally do not see how bush was at fault with katrina, many more people below him who have power on relief efforts and emergency services etc that dont need the permission of the president to go do what has to be done would be at fault.

Any guess where the tape came from? I think Michael Brown himself released himself to show how he took the fall for the President.

that's what I feel about it.
Many people on this board think President Bush is a guy that has almighty control of all of the American governmnet. You make him seem like he makes every decision and they have to ask Bush like he's king or something. Everything is not his fault. If anything, I'd blame the state and local governments more for not fixing the problems years before rather than bitching that the Feds won't give them $2billion within three hours of them requresting it.
