I used to have a prog on a disc I got with my HD which basicly writes 0's to the hd. It was Western Digital drive so their site maybe?
Other than that I doubt you can be as clean as possible but would suggest
doing a full format then going in and deleting the partions. it all depends on the work you want to put in.
