Default Band of Brothers, Part 3: Carentan - 09-13-2002, 04:02 AM

This is the most amazing show I have ever seen. It has all the drama of Saving Private Ryan, but isn't bogged down in the sentimentality that plauged SPR. I love it.

I brought this up because I just wanted to say that during the battle on the outskirts of Carentan, when Private Blithe is screaming, and Winters comes along and tells him to discharge his weapon. That is the most effective piece of film I have ever seen in a war movie/series, and the most amazing piece of television I've ever seen... Well ever. That's all I wanted to say, you just feel so bad for what Blithe is going through, incredible.

That DVD set WILL be mine...oh yes. It will be mine.

I think my favourite dramatic scene is when Winters runs across an unarmed German soldier and caps him after a long pause. I love how the german looks shocked, then half-smiles as if he thinks Winters will let him go, then he realizes that he's not going anywhere. *POW*

So cool.

Amazing how in in that slow mo sequence blithe appears to fire 11 shots from an 8 shot rifle. Then they focus on the ejecting shell as if thats making the ping sound which it obviously isn't. That whole sequence was fucked up quite badly. eek:

2 from thin red line come to mind

long shot of the river where the forest starts walking into the water before you realise its dozens of japanes troops & witt deciding to die when surrounded by a squad of enemy.
