Something like this
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LNS4051D- ... uctDetails
The 360 supports these resolutions:

640 x 480
848 x 480
1024 x 768
1280 x 720 (equivalent to 720p)
1280 x 768
1280 x 1024
1360 x 768
1920x1080 <--- the daddy

That tv supports upto 1360x768, a better buy id say. | I have that TV in a 32". It's beautiful.

xbox supports 1080p? | 360 does, check your video settings, 1920x1080 is an option since a few updates back. Only the dashboard and hd-dvd movie can make use of it so far though.

yeah i meant 360. i don't have one though, i just thought it was only 720. can you get actual 1080p out of a component cable? don't you need hdmi to do that? |

Nothing really special about needing a hdmi cable, its just another higher res that even older pc's can do via vga. happy:

God damnit - who the hell is CHRISTIAN! cuss:
I keep on hearing tons of crazy shit about "Red lights" and overheating. . .that - is not good. I didnt mind DRE's on SONY's - because I installed all my games to a HD and havent played from a disc in years. . .but if the fucker just refuses to start. . .thats no good.

Theres a years warranty on them so if it fucks up bring it back to the store or call ms. I think bestbuy sell some kinda 2-3 year warranty on them as well.
Of course warranty only valid if its not modded. biggrin:

The overheating things bullshit, the console puts out a lot of heat but so does my ps3, even my wii heats up a good bit on the left hand side. Even my pc when running games, the cpu loads up to over 60c and the 2 graphics cards hit 94c+ each. oOo:

Yea, but it looks like the modding is pretty inevasive, and many folks who have had to have theirs repairsed - sent it in and everything was a go.
Normally I wouldnt worry about console errors, but fuck there seems to be ALOT of folks complaining out there. . .but then a majority on other forums I visit do not. I just hate to get stuck with a fucking lemon.

Also this HDTV is available in my area for 500 bucks. It looks like its two years old, but would suit my needs (and cheapness):

 [url=http://www.amazon.com/Sony-KDF-42WE655-Projection-Television-Integrated/dp/B00061ZNVE/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-9594095-3026532?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1172860952&sr=1-1:4f982]Damn this is a long URL![/url:4f982]

Again I only ask because I really dont know what to look for. For example - HDMI? For the average user, I'm guessing HDMI isnt all that - and mostly for videophiles?

At the minute the only console to support HDMI is the ps3, all hdmi does is give you digital audio and video over one connection, instead of having a connector for video and 2 others for audio. The 360 uses vga or component so its an analogue signal. Ive tried my ps3 with hdmi and with component and to me theres practically dick all difference in terms of the image quality.

As for that tv, 88lbs in weight eek: , i really dunno too much about projection tv's. Supports 1080i and 720p so its well enough suited to the 360's needs.

You're probably better of going to an electronics store and looking at the tv's to see exactly what a projection tv is like. Id be very suprised if you couldn't pick up a 40" lcd for under a grand. Wharfdale tv's are meant to be good and not wallet busters.

My xbox froze once to point where I had to get up off the couch and press the button to restart it. Other than that it owns.
 PS Get halo 2.

You realize. . .that was a rhetorical question. . .
I hate technology - theres so many options out there. Which I suppose is good because it offers a wide range of choice - but also means youll inevitably sit back and think - damn. . .did I make the right decision.

I guess Ill just have to go into FRY's or something to really see the screens.

I have NEVER been a HALO fan.
