Default EU Mulling Criminalizing Holocaust Denial & Hate Speech - 04-19-2007, 09:29 AM

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/849561.html

[quote:ad2e1]Under the text being debated, EU countries would set jail terms of at least one to three years for "publicly inciting to violence or hatred... directed against a group of persons or a member of such a group defined by reference to race, color, religion, descent or national or ethnic origin."

Absolutely ridiculous in my opinion.

"The proposed rules would also apply to people "publicly condoning, denying, or grossly trivializing crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes" as defined by international crime courts."

would never be forced into the UK, and its only a discussion that most probaly won't be put through that has been over-highlighted by an Israeli news source.

Hey, if you're going to complain about us, you can't stay silent when places in Europe do it to.
