Default Some airborne gameplay footage - 05-28-2007, 09:32 PM

http://www.gametrailers.com/umwatcher.php?id=68422

Near the end it looks like you're at the seafront attacking the bunkers from behind this time instead of being screwed over from the beach.

Still be interesting to see if ea actually manage to pull off a good multiplayer this time. Games using unreal engine 3 so should be a pretty good system hog.

This guys writeup on the game so far makes it seem ok.

The leaning movements are done really well. Very cinematic feel to them.

Looks great, I really hope they actually stick to the whole "SDK on release"; would be nice to be able to start mapping right out of the box. The game itself looks great and the Thompson sounds pretty beefy, to bad they picked the ugly 1928 version with the barrel handle.

There are cross hairs:

Probably took the HUD off to have a more "cinematic" stylized video without the HUD + crosshairs getting in the way.

Aww...I would have liked it more if it didn't have crosshairs. RO is really fun when you're hipshooting with the freeaim. It's a nice breath of fresh air from the crosshair madness. One reason I'm really looking forward to Insurgency.

I guess, you could also read our review as posted on the front page, as well as see the video's over at the gallery of fpsadmin.com biggrin:

I was not able to make this event, however I will be out in LA mid June and will be stopping by to get my own hands on.

With all that said, still nothing on the MP side of things.

For whatever reason im pretty sure mp is where ea will make a balls of things purely becuase they go into this "zomg we can't release any info" mode.

Pa had like 100+ people working on the mp, Ea stated that the mp was more like a second game than a different mode, the game came out and the sp was decent at best but the multiplayer was abysmal.

The multi in MOHAA wasn't that amazing but i think at the time everyone got caught up in it because ww2 movies and games were in a big resurgance around that time so pretty much anything relating to ww2 was having its ass kissed.

Problem with multi is EA seem to treat it like a deathmatch mode, if im playing a ww2 game online with like 30 other people id expect it to seem like a battle and not just some clusterfuck where some retard at the end proclaims "zomg ive got the most kills i r win". oOo:

Id love to know if ea are finally gonna implement a mode similar to day of defeat where specific points on the map have to be captured, dod can be very intense when action occurs around the one area and its probably the best ww2 infantry experience for multiplayer there is (not totally sim not totally arcade a nice mix of the 2). And whys that? because all the elements for it to be a good game are in place, rifles, submachine guns, rifle grenades smoke grenades bazookas, melee weapons, and most important of all, a dedicated light machinegun class that can depoly his mg on sandbags, walls, window ledges the ground etc, virtually anyhere an mg can be used in real life it can be used in this game.

If your teams getting decimated an mg class can hold down an area till reinforcements respawn and get back to the action. That type of things never been seen in a medal of honour game, the best they could do was some retarded "find this mg on the map" system which could only be deployed if the ground was level enough. oOo: Even when you got it the thing was worthless, inaccurate as hell and had zero animation besides the firing animation.

If ea are keeping the mp info undre wraps with around 2 months till the games release then more than likely theyre sat there with their thumbs up their ass developing yet another pos deathmatch mode. The gmae will probably be worth buying for the sp, but i doubt ea will pull any rabbits out of the hat for the mp.

Looks pretty impressive to me. Hope MP impressives but with all MOH games the maps are small and the fighting usually confined to tight spaces, heres hoping though...

Almost certain they won't make MP more than a deathmatch. Sure, you can put objectives, but everybody knows by now that maps with objectives don't get done; it's easier to just kill everybody. I think a cap-based/reinforcement based MP provides the best experience right now in a MP game. DODS does this well, but I absolutely hate how the weapons are done in that game. It's a topic for another day, so I'll leave it at that. I'm really looking forward to Insurgency because of the cap/reinforcement system.

Going off the topic but who on here is buying Enemy Territory: Quake Wars?

I can't fucking wait for this game. Release will be somewhere around the end of June and a demo is on the horizon too. PC Game said they'd have the review+demo in the next issue so not long now.

If you can run Quake 4 well, then you should run Quake Wars well, which is music to my ears

Quake wars will be good IF they don't optomize it up the ass as to what clanners want in the game. As far as i know testing with some clans is underway or soon will be, and knowing clanners strafejumping will be something they want which will effectively make quake wars quake 3 or 4 with vehicles.

Thats what bugs me about quake players, theyre just afraid of change, games have to have the ability to hop around like a tool or they don't like it. Theres already loads of quake style deathmatch games that incorperate strafejumping, just because this game has quake in the title its something they'll probably be demanding in this game as well. And knowing "id" they seem to cater just to clanners more so than the average joE who just wants to have fun.

Really hope it doesn't turn out like that but its a possibility.

I have a feeling geRV probably hit the nail on the head with MoH:A MP, but none of us will know until we either get the game or they release information on it.

On another note: Insurgency is 9 days away. happy:
