Maybe I've forgotten as its been years and years since I played it properly. I just have a bad memory of trying out MP again a couple of years ago and it was terrible......people leaning about, cheating, glitching, just was no fun at all compared to how it was when it was popular.
Single player was always good.....I've moved on now tho....
One game I have missed is BF1942 as no game has pulled off its scale and sheer fun yet, hopefully there'll be a game in the works that'll do the job sometime soon

Always found it weird how allied assaults multi got so popular, the whole mode was an afterthought slammed in during the last few months of development, initially the game was single player only.
Suppose becuase of all the ww2 movies at the time that helped popularise it, obviously looked a lot better than dod so that helped make it more popular.
Always wondered if the multi mode pacific asault had was set in a european theatre would it have been more popular, the jungles and shit in PA made it harder to navigate compared to maps like DV or whatever. That "invader" mode in a map like dv or bigger could have worked well probably.
Still laugh when i remember the PA producer stating that pacifc assaults multi is more like an additional game than a mode as they had like 100+ people working on it, and yet the mp was amazingly shit. stupid:
