The price went up for hosting at XGS, from $70 to $100 a month.
As you can tell its pretty expensive to provide you with this great server
every month, and the donations have kept it going. But Rudedog needs
your help, he can't just pay for it all out of his own pocket every month. So
I am asking all of the regular players out there to at least consider to donate a little money towards the monthly bill. If the money stops coming in the server will eventually have to be shut down. Rude is generous enough to keep it going, but we can't expect him to keep paying the full amount each month. Remember, he gets NO money from this site. He takes the time to help out each and every one of you out there, without a single complaint.
I want to thank everyone out there who has helped with the server as well as donate their time and money to keep it running smoothly. The donations that have come in have been generous.
And don't think you have to donate a large amount of money, a couple of dollars won't break the bank.
Thanks for reading everyone, see you on the server.

When did this news come in? I haven't received any notice from XGS and I just set up a server for 16 ppl. If they're raising their prices I'm definately going to switch to another server. I can't afford to pay that much, and the donations I've been promised won't continue if they know they're helping to pay a huge bill.
{{Runs off to yell at billing dept.}} bigzooka:
Rude, you might consider that server I mentioned in the e-mail. I love your server and would hate to see it go.

Many servers are negotiable. If you tell them that you could advertise them on the biggest alliedassault.com site (need BS approval), maybe they'll give you a discount. Or you could by a completely private one for a lower price but release the password on the forums.

When TMT went hunting for a server we got offers of 30 to 50 % off but came with popups and larger that we would like banners.
We declined as we dont need popups and banners to stay online.
ONe wanted to host the entire website and give us 40% off a server (hosting was free).
Good deal but we have a host paid for 2 years.
PMed Rude with names and addresses :)

Thanks Hollywood for the post.
The game server was prepaid unit 10/7 - 16 players + 200 megs of web space for $70.00 = 5.00 for the web hosting.
I just received my bill. They increased it to $96.00 and 5 for the additional web space.
With the extra money I had from the past donations and some money I kicked in. I have paid for an additional month. so we are paid up until 11/7
With the exp coming out and BF42 being released. I was not sure if anyone would still be around so I did not extend the server beyond 10/7, at the time.
To be honest we have not had that much traffic and was wondering if everyone is just talking a break and waiting for the EXP to come out or has just moved on.
I have also been looking for a dedicated server to do whatever I want. If I'm paying over 100 per month I might as well get something out of it more then just 1 MOH game server. This is something I'm doing on the side and don't really think I will be able to find anything within my budget of donations.
Will see guys. If Spearhead goes over well. Then my level of enthusiasm will grow and I will continue this project.
I must say XGS has been great. ( other then there prices ) You get what you pay for and XGS is worth every penny. Bandwidth continues to go up in price so I understand their side. But I don't think they understand, many clans and younger players can not afford to spend that much money per month. ( not saying I'm young or in a clan ) but you get the point.
I will keep everyone up to date with the situation.
