Girardi is shit compared to Mattingly and I'm sure they made no attempt to keep A-Rod. Don't get me wrong, I don't like A-Rod as a person, but he's good as a player. Finally proved himself hitting the cleanup spot. Even managed to bat 'okay' in the post season.
