The original cast of Ghostbusters have signed up to lend their faces and voices to a new game based on the hit film series, reports say. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson have all agreed to take part, says trade paper Variety.
Aykroyd and Ramis, who wrote the original films, will also pen the story for the game - which will be set in New York City during a new ghoul invasion.
Publisher is particularly optimistic for the chances of "Ghostbusters" because, unlike the young male-targeted "Scarface," it has the potential to appeal to children and adults. Developer Terminal Reality is making a "Ghostbusters" game for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 aimed primarily at the core gamer demographic, while Red Fly Studios is making a version for Playstation 2, Wii and DS designed more for families and casual gamers.
Its sad the holdup in a new movie is all about Bill Murray owning a percentage of the franchise and disliking sequels, supposodly was quoted as saying he would never star in 3 movies of the one franchise. Suppose this cgi movie coming out doesn't count as his meant to be doing voiceover work for it.
That vid above though is pretty old, that was done by a company without permision, akroyd has been doing mo-cap sessions with another company thats making the game. Be interesting to see if they use the Ut3 gears of war engine like that old video did.

yeah, the breaking news yesterday in all this is that the developer has got the green light to go ahead with the game. they were running into licensing issues before.
I think the movie deal is pretty dead though. but a game will be fun.
you can so see ghostbusters 3 happening, especially with all this pointing in the direction that all the originals are onboard for lending voices they probably will do a film like rocky balboa, as old men.
games going to be made by a shit developer though thats my only gripe.
